Consent & Legal Sexual Activity for the State of
30th January 2012 Email to Premier Anna Bligh and Attorney-General Paul Lucas. Regarding the finalisation of the Change.org petition which I had opened on 14th December 2011 and which I state that I closed on 28th January 2012 “in order to give you sufficient time to be prompted into action by those 254 signatures from around the world. The covering letter for the petition, which includes the reasons people gave for signing, is stored on my site at: http://www.queerradio.org/EqualAgeOfConsentPetition_covering_letter_30Jan2012.pdf. I beg you to give one last moment of serious consideration to making all Queensland youth equal under the law.”

Subject: Petition signed by 254 people calling for Equal Age Of Consent Reform in Queensland
To: Hon Premier Anna Bligh and Hon Attorney-General Paul Lucas
Dear Premier and Attorney-General,
I know that you are both well aware that for the last 12 years I have been organising community action calling for the Queensland Government to bring its Criminal Code into line with the rest of Australia and allow all of its youthful citizens the protection and dignity which is inherent in there being a truly equal age of consent, regardless of gender or sexuality.
On 1st December 2011 I emailed my congratulations to both of you in regard to the Civil Partnership Bill, and I received a letter from the Premier's Office which declared that the Bligh Government was committed to equality and a fair go for ALL Queenslanders. Our state's youthful Queenslanders deserve that commitment to be applied before there is any risk of Labor losing its majority.
Today I have posted to both of you, by registered mail, the printed result of a Petition which I opened using the Change.org system on 14th December 2011, and which I closed on the 28th January in order to give you sufficient time to be prompted into action by those 254 signatures from around the world.
The covering letter for the petition, which includes the reasons people gave for signing, is stored on my site at:
