24th August 2001 Letter from the office of Premier Peter Beattie acknowledging receipt of my letter dated 15th August 2001,. The Premier says he has nothing to say in response to my specific call for action, but merely intends to pass it on to the Attorney General for his comment.

Thank you for your further letter concerning the age of consent. I have been requested to reply to you on the Premier’s behalf.

Whilst the contents of your letter have been noted, the Premier is unable to add to the information forwarded to you on 13 August 2001.

I have, however, taken the liberty of forwarding a copy of your latest letter to the Honourable Rod Welford MP, Attorney-General and Minister for Justice for his further consideration and reply direct to you.
