Attn Attorney-General Matt Foley MP,

Dear Matt,

I refer to our ongoing struggle to get the public adequately informed about the effect of the Sodomy Law on legal sexual activity in Queensland.

I have attached below an excellent article from the PlanetOut website http://www.planetout.com/news/article-print.html?2001/02/13/1.

If they can repeal the sodomy law in Arizona, then we can certainly do the same here, and for the very same reasons.

A straightforward age of consent of 16 for all consenting sexual activity makes education of the public easy.

Repealing the Sodomy Law also helps to eliminate the stigma attached to a particular sexual activity which is commonly practised by gay and straight alike, yet is perceived to be a "homosexual" act.

If the ALP are returned for another term they should have the courage to be immediately proactive on this issue. You can also take it as an opportunity to save time, anguish and money in the effort to explain the current confusing legal situation, which has resulted in 80% of the public being grossly misinformed.
